Warren County VINE Release Coverage
Tennessee VINE through VINELink is a free custody-status and notification service. The Tennessee Department of Correction says its felony offenders participate, and it reported that many county jails were already using VINE when TDOC joined the service. That does not establish that every Warren County Jail booking appears, that an old booking remains searchable, or that the local feed has a fixed update schedule. Search results must be read as reports from the agency named on the record.
VINE can serve two distinct needs. It can display a reported status for one person, and it can send notice when the feeding agency reports a qualifying change. Depending on the record, a user may be offered phone, email, text, TTY, or app notification. The service is free and confidential. Coverage follows custody systems. Warren County Jail is a county facility, while TDOC holds or supervises felony offenders statewide. Keeping those systems apart prevents a county status change from being mistaken for the end of all confinement.
There is no official Warren County web roster against which to compare a VINE result. A missing result has several possible causes. A spelling variation, alias, delayed feed, agency nonparticipation, transfer, expunction, or archive rule can remove or hide a match. Read a Warren County VINE Result
A VINE result is an event report, not a full release file. Read related fields together. A status without the reporting agency may describe the wrong stage, while a facility name without the event date may be stale. The following fields are the core facts to preserve when they appear.

“Released” means that the feeding agency reported the end of its custody event. It may reflect bond, sentence completion, parole, a court order, or transfer. It does not by itself prove an unrestricted return to the community. The Warren County Sheriff release entry should identify whether county custody ended through release to the community or a handoff to TDOC, another county, federal authorities, or immigration custody.
FOIL is the official statewide check for people currently or formerly in TDOC felony custody or supervision. It may show Current Status, Assigned Location, Sentence End Date, Release Eligibility Date, sentence information, a photo, and a parole hearing result. FOIL does not replace a Warren County misdemeanor jail record. A person who posted local bond or finished a short local sentence may never appear there.
Current Status also needs precise reading. “Parole” supports release from incarceration to supervised community status. “Probation” supports community supervision but does not identify the Warren County jail exit. “Inactive” may indicate that TDOC custody and supervision are no longer active when read with the sentence fields, yet the exact release method still comes from the state record.

Register Warren County Release Alerts
Registration begins from the matching individual record. Offered channels vary, so select only a method shown by VINELink for that record. Automated telephone alerts use a four-digit personal identification number, or PIN. That PIN acknowledges the call and stops repeat notifications. It is not the person's offender number, and the research does not establish that every email alert uses it.
- Open the confirmed individual record and choose registration or notification.
- Select an offered phone, email, text, TTY, or app channel.
- Enter a direct phone number or email address and review it for errors.
- Create a four-digit PIN when registering for automated telephone calls.
- Submit the registration and wait for a completion message.
- Keep the person’s name or ID, selected channel, and telephone PIN in a secure place.
Update the registration if the contact information changes. Multiple contacts may be permitted by the interface. If registration does not complete, call Tennessee VINE support rather than assuming the alert is active. VINE itself warns users not to depend on the service alone, so an alert should trigger a check with the agency instead of ending the inquiry.
Confirm Warren County VINE Releases
The strongest local proof is the Warren County Sheriff custody or release record with the actual date, time, disposition, and destination. A court order can explain the legal event, but a calendar listing does not prove that the jail carried it out. For TDOC custody, read VINE with FOIL and request the state release or discharge record when exact proof is needed.
Federal custody requires the BOP inmate locator. A past BOP Release Date with no facility can support that federal prison custody ended, although another jurisdiction or federal supervision may follow. ICE's Online Detainee Locator covers its own custody and some recent releases within its stated scope. Neither is replaced by a Warren County VINE result.
When records conflict, ask whether they describe different points in one sequence: a court order, county jail exit, transfer admission, TDOC release, parole start, or sentence expiration. Do not average the dates. Contact the office that owns the disputed field, preserve the displayed record, and request correction or an explanation from that source.
Note: A future eligibility or sentence-end date is not an actual release, and a failed VINE search proves no custody outcome.
VINE Across Warren Custody Layers
TDOC Policy 511.03 gives a concrete Tennessee example of why agency layers matter. Its release-notification form includes the person’s name and TDOC number, conviction county and date, date of birth, offense, release method and date, sentence expiration, and intended city and state. Those are state release details, not Warren County Jail's published web fields.
The same policy tells a notice recipient to register with county SAVIN or VINE when TDOC releases a person by detainer to a Tennessee county facility. In that event, the state can accurately report a release while the county immediately begins the next custody episode. A similar sequence can run from Warren County to TDOC or another authority.
This local-state handoff is the reason to record the reporting agency and destination every time. “Released from TDOC” and “released from Warren County Jail” answer different questions. A custody chain is complete only when the next agency is checked or the originating record shows that the person returned to the community.
Other Warren County Status Systems
The TBI Sex Offender Registry is a separate system for people who have a legal duty to register. It can be searched by name or alias, address, city, county, ZIP code, offender ID, status, or offense. A detail may include a photo, classification, address, supervision information, offenses, and the last report date. TBI says the data is supplied by registering agencies and updated daily.
Registry updates are not VINE custody alerts, and the registry is not a general release database. It should be used only when registration law applies to the person. Likewise, a parole or probation status belongs in FOIL and with TDOC Community Supervision. Choosing the right system produces a narrower and more reliable answer.
Keep the notification record with the source check. Save the person or offender ID, selected agency, displayed event, registration confirmation, and the time each item was reviewed. If VINE reports a change but the jail record differs, ask each agency about its own field. A court docket may explain the order behind the event, but only the jail movement shows when Warren County carried it out.
